Canon Shutter Count Software Mac Free Download

The simplest FREE option I’ve found for getting an accurate count of shutter actuations for a Canon EOS DSLR on a Mac computer was buried deep in a photography forum posted in 2013. More than five years ago user “mij” published a very straight-forward free-to-use piece of software he called Shutter Counter and posted it for free download. If you have a Mac, you can use ShutterCheck to discover information on your Canon DSLR, including shutter count, serial number, battery charge level, and firmware version. Like with EOSInfo, you install the app, plug your model into the computer, and learn valuable information before purchasing.

The brand new Canon EOS 6D Mark II and 200D (aka Rebel SL2 / Kiss X9) are supported in version 3.1 of ShutterCount on macOS and iOS.

Free Shutter Count is simple to install and features an intuitive interface. The program requires only that you connect your Canon DSLR camera to the computer via USB and turn it on so that it can. Easy to use Canon shutter count software for Mac and Windows. Find the number of shutter actuations on a Canon EOS DSLR. JJC TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control Shutter Release Cord for Canon EOS 5D Mark IV/III/II,5D,6D,6D Mark II,7D,7D Mark II,1D,1DS,50D,40D,30D,20D,10D and Other Canon Cameras with 3-Pin Connection by JJC $21.99 $ 21 99 Prime.

As of today, ShutterCount is the ONLY Mac and iPhone/iPad app that can read the shutter counter from these and other post-2014 Canon cameras (like the 5D Mark IV, 5DS R, 80D, etc). In addition to the basic “number of pictures taken”, detailed live view counters are available for these cameras when you purchase the Live View Pack – another unique feature of ShutterCount.

File Mode is also improved in this release. Memory cards are scanned automatically as soon as you insert them into the Mac (or a card reader connected to your Mac). Plus you are warned if you accidentally connect your Nikon or Pentax camera via USB.

In the iOS version, History and Graph tabs are now synchronized to show data for the same camera, and they will show previous readings as well as the graph for the connected camera by default (if any). This is the same behavior the Mac version implements.

Version 3.1 is a free update for existing users on both operating systems. New users can purchase the app in the respective App Store. Live View Pack and Plus Pack are available as in-app purchases.

Have you ever wondered how to find the shutter count from your Canon? Since the days of Canon EOS 1Dn II and 1Ds II Canon hides the shutter count inside the camera. That means you either need to send the camera to Canon or use a 3rd part software. Uploading an image to a webpage to get the shutter count doesn’t work with Canon cameras post EOS 1Dn II/EOS 1Ds II.

Do you wonder if the software below will show you the correct shutter count? Well, I have sent my 6D and 7D to Canon and the shutter counts I got from Canon are the same as I got from Magic Lantern, But Magic Lantern also showed me the Live view count.

Anyway, here are some links to different software with the ability to show you the shutter count. If you find it hard to find your camera model, use the search tool in your browser and type your Canon model. If you own a Rebel camera, use Wikipedia to get the European/international model name.
